Habitat for Humanity has been one of my favorite organizations on Temple’s campus since I joined the group in the beginning of my sophomore year. Our mission is to help provide low income families with affordable housing and we accomplish this by fundraising and raising awareness. I joined the executive board as External Contact Chair (which is just a fancy name for someone who talks to Penn and Drexel’s Habitat chapters) and today I am the Vice President!!! yayy! =]
+ So this past Saturday, I accompanied 8 other Habitat Temple students to Philabundance to do some good wholesome community service. Philabundance is an awesome hunger relief agency that collects food from food drives all over the Philadelphia area and then distributes it to those who are in need.
While we were there we bagged cereal and boxed them to go to different daycares around Philly that provide meals for kids. For some children, this is the only meal they receive in a day.
Overall I had a really great day and can’t wait to go back!!!
